This exceptional progress is a testament to the dedication and effectiveness of our teaching methods.

Social & Practical Skills

We recognize the importance of a well-rounded education that extends beyond academic excellence. In addition to providing a proven curriculum, we are dedicated to helping our students develop essential social and practical skills, empowering them to thrive in all aspects of life.

We believe that emotional intelligence and social skills are vital for success in today’s interconnected world. Our experienced educators work closely with students to foster their emotional growth and teach them how to navigate the complexities of human interactions.

The Mind-Body Connection

Recognizing the intricate relationship between the mind and body and the significant impact it has on overall well-being. In addition to fostering academic and social development, we prioritize the enhancement of our students’ gross and fine motor skills, ensuring they achieve a harmonious mind-body connection.

We understand that physical activity plays a crucial role in cognitive and emotional development. Our curriculum integrates various physical exercises, sports, and activities that engage students’ gross motor skills.

We prioritize the development of creativity through a diverse range of artistic, musical, and playful experiences, allowing our students to express themselves and explore their creative potential.

We are committed to providing a comprehensive bilingual program that equips our students with the necessary language skills and cultural competence to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world. Being proficient in two languages is not only a valuable skill but also a predictor of future success.

Our Programs

Attention

Teachers recognize the importance of one-on-one time for each student in order to maximize their individual growth and development. This personalized attention helps to foster an environment where students can explore their own potential, identify any areas of difficulty, and apply strategies that best suit their own learning styles.

Safety

Our school takes its students’ safety very seriously and has put measures in place to ensure that they are always protected. All of their teachers are certified in first-aid and CPR, providing them with the necessary knowledge and skills to act swiftly in case of an emergency. The plan covers everything from evacuation procedures to health and safety policies, as well as providing advice on how to manage risks within the school environment.

Frequently Asked Questions

We understand that choosing the right preschool for your children is not an easy task, but are sure that with our comprehensive list of Frequently Asked Questions, we can provide parents with all the essential details they need in order to make an informed decision about enrolling their kids in our preschool.
At The Children First Preschool, we utilize Brightwheel, an app that facilitates communication between parents and the childcare center. It allows parents to receive digital daily reports, pictures, and messages. Additionally, parents can reach us via phone or email at any time. We also welcome parent-teacher meetings upon request. Our open-door policy allows parents to drop in at any time, but we kindly ask that you stop by the office first to ensure the visit doesn’t disrupt the child or the classroom.

We warmly invite parents to join us for celebrations, birthdays, and presentations. Sometimes, our teachers may request parent volunteers to assist with various activities. If you would like to participate, feel free to ask the administration about available opportunities. Please note that all parents who volunteer in their child’s class must pass a level 2 DCF fingerprint clearance.

Infants have a scheduled nap time every day from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

We conduct a developmental assessment annually to track each child’s progress. Additionally, formal assessments take place quarterly. These evaluations not only help parents understand their child’s developmental stage but also identify areas that can be strengthened. As educators, these assessments guide us in developing a curriculum that matches the needs of the children in our classes.

Yes, The Children First Preschool is accredited by the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA).

Ensuring the safety of our campuses is of utmost importance to us. We prioritize security by having our school assessed by the local police department and ensuring all our teachers and staff attend active shooter training. We have implemented multiple security measures, including:

  • Secured front entry door.
  • Only authorized admittance; unauthorized individuals must wait for assistance from a staff member.
  • Immediate photo identification verification on office staff computers as parents and children enter the premises.
  • Instant electronic record of your child’s arrival and departure.
  • Computerized record of all individuals authorized to pick up your child.
  • Security cameras placed strategically throughout the facility for enhanced safety.
  • Keypad system for access to the school.

If you plan to withdraw your child from The Children First Preschool, we kindly ask for a minimum one month’s notice. Partial months of attendance must be paid in full.

All students should bring an “emergency” change of clothes. If your child is not yet potty trained, please provide diapers and wipes as needed.

We are open from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Every staff member at The Children First Preschool is First Aid and CPR certified.

Our preschool is a provider for the Early Learning Coalition and VPK program.

To maintain a healthy environment for our children, families, and staff, we have a policy that requires any child with a fever, vomiting, or contagious disease to stay at home. We kindly request that children be fever-free for 24 hours before returning to school. Students with contagious diseases must provide a clearance letter from the doctor upon their return.

Absolutely! We encourage you to visit The Children First Preschool while our program is in session to get the full experience. We offer individual tours during the day, as well as an Open House at the beginning
